V.O.I.C.E.S. Reflection Circles and YOGA

V.O.I.C.E.S. Reflection Circles and YOGA

V.O.I.C.E.S. (Views, Opinions, Issues and Concerns Expressed Safely) provide an opportunity where interactive dialogue takes place in a safe, structured environment. Positive verbal communication is sorely lacking in this technology age where so much communication is done via texts and social media sites.  Participants learn to communicate verbally and, equally as importantly, to listen respectfully to others. Three V.O.I.C.E.S. will be held each month: one by our Linda Cooper, Circle Keeper, one by staff member, John Cook  and one by Chicago Police Officers, led by Officer Bill Langle,  as part of Chicago’s “Bridge the Divide” program.  To complement the reflection component of V.O.I.C.E.S, yoga is offered monthly by community member, Laura Lopez.

YOGA

To complement the reflection component of V.O.I.C.E.S, yoga is offered monthly by community volunteer, Laura Lopez.  Laura offers a  slower-paced yoga session geared towards those new to yoga or preferring a slightly gentler class.  Our young people enjoy the opportunity to relax and unwind in a quiet and calming way.  We are so grateful to Laura for her dedication and commitment to our young people.
